Meijer asked RedStitch to reimagine their Pet Department as its own, unique destination within the store. Together with a cross-functional team of environments designers, graphic designers, fixture teams and production partners, we created a shopping experience unlike anything Meijer had previously done.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
IT'S THEIR WORLD
Our concept puts pets front and center, expressing what pets think and feel to demonstrate that Meijer understands what they need and want.
Photography is focused on the pet, with the animal gazing at the viewer to evoke an emotional response from the shopper. Bright, playful colors and textures compliment bold, rounded typefaces, creating an atmosphere for the pet department that is friendly and fun.

ENVIRONMENT design
Initial sketches focused on creating focal areas throughout the department that would be visible from afar. Warm materials create an inviting destination, while bright colors add lively energy and act as navigational cues for pet species.

And for more than 80 years, Meijer has remained committed to the communities they serve, focusing on families, freshness, and supporting local nonprofit organizations, and community events.
